1785 C NOVA Nova Constellation Copper, Blunt Rays, Crosby 1-B, W-1880, R.4, AU55 PCGS. The 1785 Nova Constellatio coppers with Blunt Rays are scarce in all grades and they are elusive in higher grades. This piece exhibits lovely olive and tan surfaces with hints of gold, faded from mint red. This Choice AU example has finer color and surfaces than the similarly graded John Ford example that appeared for sale five years ago. It is likewise finer than a few other AU55 PCGS examples that we have seen. Listed on page 56 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population: 5 in 55, 3 finer (6/17).
