1783 COPPER Washington Unity States Cent, Baker-1, W-10130, Musante GW-104, R.1, AU55 PCGS. CAC. Housed in a green-label PCGS holder, this piece exhibits only a trace of high-point wear on its glossy chocolate-brown surfaces. The heavy diagonal marks on the obverse (sometimes they appear on the reverse) were in the planchet before striking. The reverse is a close imitation of the later one cent pieces struck at Philadelphia from 1793 to 1807, with UNITED changed to UNITY. Listed on page 82 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population: 41 in 55, 26 finer. CAC: 3 in 55, 2 finer (6/17).
