Indian Eagles
1914 $10 MS66 PCGS. CAC. The issue is one of the few in the series that can be found in MS65, though Premium Gems are very rare. Many coins were exported to Europe in international trade and remained in storage before being repatriated during the middle part of the last century. It is hard to imagine this coin made it that far and returned unscathed. More likely it was set aside domestically by an astute collector. The surfaces are nearly pristine without any evidence of die erosion around the edges. A greenish cast complements this orange-gold, finely textured Premium Gem, and a full strike defines the motifs on each side. Population: 11 in 66 (2 in 66+), 3 finer. CAC: 7 in 66, 0 finer (6/17).
