Indian Eagles
1915 $10 MS66 PCGS. CAC. The 1915 Indian eagle was the last issue produced at the Philadelphia Mint until 1926. The issue is more available than many entries in the series, and it is notable for good production values that are amply on display here: The fabulous original color comprises orange-gold with pronounced lilac accents interspersed over each side. Both sides display thick, frosted mint luster, and metal flowlines coupled with a mattelike finish in the fields give the coin a textured finish. The strike is uniformly sharp, and only under a loupe do a few tiny marks appear in the centers. An excellent Indian Head type candidate. Population: 13 in 66 (2 in 66+), 1 finer. CAC: 10 in 66, 0 finer (6/17).
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2012), lot 5010.
