Liberty Double Eagles
1884-CC $20 MS62 PCGS. Variety 1-A. Two cross-hatched die lines above JBL are apparent on all 1884-CC double eagles, of which 81,139 pieces were originally coined. The average survivor in AU50 to AU53 shows a moderate degree of circulation and heavy bagmarks, neither of which are present on this MS62. Shimmering mint frost glistens over green-gold surfaces with wisps of orange coloration strewn throughout. The curls display crisp delineation and the stars exhibit complete radial lines and centers. Two marks right below Liberty's chin will attribute this particular coin in future appearances. Population: 74 in 62, 6 finer (6/17).
