1878-CC $1 MS66 PCGS. The CC mintmark and first-year status of the 1878-CC explain the issue's popularity with collectors. However, despite a mintage of 2.2 million coins, examples are only scarcely seen in MS66 and very rarely made available in higher grades. Total brilliance and cartwheel luster characterize this needle-sharp Premium Gem. A series of interesting die lines occur around the lower portion of the wreath. There are merely six finer submissions at PCGS (6/17).
