1879-S $1 MS68 NGC. An available date in lower grades, the 1879-S Morgan is conditionally scarce in MS68 where it is heralded as the perfect type coin. Strong eye appeal and a sharp strike -- usual hallmarks of the 1879-S -- are beautifully displayed on this piece with a backdrop of semiprooflike fields. There is no toning, and the pristine surfaces offer subtle cameo contrast. None are finer at either service (6/17).
