1889 $1 Bar Wing, VAM-19A, Top 100, MS66 PCGS. CAC. A Top 100 Variety. This "Bar Wing" VAM is so-named for a large retained die break at the upper edge of the eagle's left (facing) wing, just below IN. This is the sole finest example attributed by PCGS (6/17). The strike is well-executed, and the frosty surfaces are unabraded. Areas of sea-green and yellow-gold toning join forest-green, russet, and amber border hues.
