Morgan Dollars
1890-CC $1 MS65 PCGS. After striking a tiny quantity of Morgan dollars in 1889, the Carson City Mint boosted output to 2.3 million coins in 1890. And yet, the 1890-CC is scarce in MS65 and very rare (verging on unobtainable) in MS66. Each side is lightly toned in cobalt-blue, violet, and peach-gold patina that progresses from the rims toward the centers. Well-struck overall with slight softness over the ear and breast, where roller marks are present. Just 16 higher-graded submissions at PCGS (6/17).
