Morgan Dollars
1892 $1 MS65 PCGS. The Gem level of preservation is the finest 1892 Morgan dollar that most collectors are likely to encounter. Indeed, PCGS has seen a mere six numerically finer submissions and NGC has graded none higher (6/17). This issue is notorious for its poor strikes. The present MS65 example is a refreshing exception, however. Strong detail is apparent in the hair over Liberty's ear, and even the eagle's breast feathers display a good amount of detail. Hints of light brown color cling to the margins of the lustrous surfaces. A few light grazes on Liberty's cheek and in the left obverse field are within the parameters of the grade designation.
