1901 $1 PR66 Cameo PCGS. The 1901 Morgan dollar claims a mintage of nearly 7 million business strikes, but few examples were saved. Many coins were likely melted under the provisions of the Pittman Act in 1918. Thus, high-grade circulation strikes are exceedingly rare, and proofs often take their place in collectors' sets.
