Washington half dollars in legislation that was approved on August 7, 1946, and stated that none of the coins could be issued after August 7, 1951. During that period, a little less than one-third of the total was actually distributed, including only 6,000 examples of the 1947-D. This Superb Gem, tied for the finest certified, is sharply detailed with stunning pinkish-lilac toning over brilliant and frosty silver luster with pristine, nearly flawless surfaces.
