Coins of Hawaii
1883 10C Hawaii Ten Cents MS65 PCGS. The San Francisco Mint struck 250,000 ten cent pieces for the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1883. Many coins were melted after Hawaii officially became a U.S. territory in 1900. Gems like the one here-offered are exceedingly rare. Mottled violet, blue, and olive tones grace each side, though the reverse maintains significant brilliance. Frosty luster emanates from the underlying surfaces. The Charles Barber design is well brought-up. Population: 21 in 65, 16 finer (6/17).
