Early Half Dollars
1794 50C O-104, T-11, R.5 -- Reverse Scratched, Improperly Cleaned -- NCS. VF Details. Middle die state, showing a rim cud above the ER in AMERICA. The coin is sharply detailed, showing bold rims and clear legends. Both sides are extensively hairlined and unnaturally bright from a vigorous cleaning. The obverse is otherwise problem-free, but the reverse shows several heavy scratches on the eagle, with numerous mint-made planchet adjustment marks elsewhere. The level of detail in the major design elements, as well as the sought-after 1794 date, are the hallmarks of this piece.
