Bust Half Dollars
1807 50C Capped Bust, Small Stars, O-113a, R.3, VF30 PCGS. Actually, an intermediate die state between O-113 and O-113a, since the latest die crack above S OF AMER is not yet present, and the crack through the outer-left star points on the obverse is in its early stage. An earlier crack from the denomination to the top of UNITED and through STATES to the scroll is fully formed. Always in demand as the sole representative of the Small Stars Capped Bust type, this variety is scarce beyond its R.3 rating. Rich walnut and tan toning blankets the well-defined, problem-free surfaces.
