Bust Half Dollars
1809 50C Normal Edge, O-106, R.3, AU55 PCGS. The surfaces are lightly textured from die erosion, yet the stars are sharp and crisp definition remains throughout the eagle's plumage. Lightly toned on the obverse with peach-gold hues at the border around a silver center. The toning intensifies on the reverse into reddish-gold and silver-gray shades. Struck from "stage c" dies according to Ed Richter's O-106 sub-varieties, with a strong die crack through the left-hand stars and a new crack on the reverse from D to ST.
