Bust Half Dollars
1811 50C Small 8, O-111, R.1, MS61 PCGS. Some patchy blue and reddish-tan toning at the borders adds interest to the frosted, pale-gold centers of this Mint State O-111 example. Housed in a previous generation green label holder, the variety is readily identified by an elongated, S-shaped die lump on Liberty's neck beneath the earlobe and IT of UNITED joined at the top. Quadruple die clashing visits both sides of this sharply struck, uncracked coin. At the low end of the Condition Census for the early die state based on the Parsley and Herrman references.
