Bust Half Dollars
1823 50C O-109, High R.5, VF20 ANACS. The O-108 and O-109 varieties share the same obverse, but the later O-109 usage is much scarcer. Strong die cracks traverse the portrait -- one across the bust to star 1, and another from the top of star 5, across the cap, to the edge above star 8. This is a smooth, dove-gray example with silver-gray patina on the raised devices for attractive, old-silver contrast. Nice definition remains for the assigned grade. A shallow rim bruise exists near the bottom arrowhead. Housed in a small, early generation ANACS holder.
