Bust Half Dollars
1828 50C Curl Base 2, No Knob, O-105, R.5, XF45 PCGS. The Curl Top, Curl Base 2 and recutting at the lower-left outside curve of U in UNITED define the elusive O-105 die marriage. Pale-orange and lilac shades overlay silver-gray surfaces with traces of mint luster at the margins. Struck from worn dies, this variety is very scarce in all conditions. The present XF45 example shows lack of central detail from die fatigue and circulation wear, yet the surfaces are Choice and appealing.
