Bust Half Dollars
1828 50C Square Base 2, Small 8s, Large Letters, O-112, R.3, AU58 PCGS. This is a remarkably smooth and well-struck example from a late state of the dies, with recutting of the C in 50 C no longer visible. The T and E in STATES are skewed toward each other in a minor fashion. Diagnostic die lines in front and below the bust are no longer present from lapping of the dies. Copper-gold, pale-blue, and tan toning combine for great eye appeal, underscored by nearly full remaining mint luster.
