Bust Half Dollars
1832 50C Small Letters, O-122, R.1, MS64 NGC. The satin-smooth surfaces coruscate with vibrant mint luster while nearly mark-free surfaces gleam within a frame of amber-gold toning. The strike is sharp, lacking completeness only at the top-most tip of the cap and a few of the surrounding stars. Clearly, the eye appeal is the calling card of this dazzling near-Gem Bust half. It is tied for second-finest of the O-122 variety in both the Parsley and Herrman census listings (6/17).
