Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1916-S 50C MS64 PCGS. The San Francisco branch mint struck a limited quantity of Walking Liberty half dollars in the first year of the series (only 508,000 coins). Unsurprisingly, near-Gems are very scarce and widely sought-after. This strongly detailed example appears brilliant at first glance, but glints of gold, lavender, and blue become apparent upon closer inspection. The same examination fails to reveal any major flaws.
