SMS Kennedy Half Dollars
1965 50C SMS MS67 Deep Cameo PCGS. There were no government issued proof sets in 1965 through 1967, and during that time mintmarks were removed from all coins. Five-coin sets, called Special Mint Sets, were issued for those three years. The quality of the coins approached that of proof sets. This Superb Gem Deep Cameo half dollar is from one of those sets and exhibits brilliant and untoned surfaces with amazing field-to-device contrast. Population: 14 in 67 Deep Cameo, 0 finer (6/17).
