(1942) 1C Aqua Glass Token, RB 42-70-T-1, R.8 -- Fragment -- NGC. 0.63 grams, Specific Gravity 2.60. This trapezoidal glass AA token is made of glass that displays a slight aquamarine color. The overlapping capital letters AA appear on one side with spiral lathe lines from die production. The obverse surface is discolored by unknown material of a red-brown and black color. This fragment was likely one of the earliest tests leading to a potential glass coinage. It was almost certainly subjected to various strength tests in the factory.
