1942 1C Experimental Amber Glass Cent, RB 42-70-X-4, R.7, MS64 NGC. 1.98 grams, 21.77 mm. (vertical), Specific Gravity 2.60. A yellow-amber glass cent, this piece exhibits complete impressions of the obverse and reverse dies with the details in rounded relief. Burdette notes that this piece is "largely intact but with nearly straight piece missing at lower right where part of the rim is missing on both sides" The surfaces show microscopic cracks and myriad bubbles, some that obscure part of the date. "Multiple white deposits consist of very fine fractured glass particles, probably the result of thermal and mechanical stress. These are not superficial dirt, but are part of the item," according to Burdette, who also notes:

"The edge is not ground and has prominent remains of a central flange or molding sprue along the circumference. This was produced when the piece was manufactured, and was later cut close to the design rim. Most parts of the flange were cut off cleanly."
