Liberty Quarter Eagles
1850-O $2 1/2 MS61 PCGS. Variety 1. The mintmark is positioned slightly right. Doug Winter calls the 1850-O quarter eagle "quite rare in Uncirculated" and notes that most examples are in MS60 to MS61. This piece is at the upper end of what is normally seen. Light yellow-gold surfaces exhibit partial reflectivity in the obverse fields. All star centers are present with softness confined to the eagle's feathers. Perhaps 15 to 20 Mint State survivors are known. Population: 6 in 61, 14 finer (6/17).
