Three Dollar Gold Pieces
1888 $3 MS61 PCGS. Only 5,000 three dollar gold coins were struck for "circulation" in 1888. Really, the coins were manufactured so that those who wanted to give them as gifts could do so. The denomination was unseen in circulation by that point and would later be abolished in 1890. This is a frosty, well-struck example without the usual reflectivity seen on these low-mintage business strikes. Minimally marked. Housed in an old green label holder.
