1834 $5 Plain 4 MS62 PCGS. Breen-6502, McCloskey 2-A, R.1. Second Head. The 4 in the date is tripled punched, and the base of the D in UNITED is doubled at the base. Softness over the forecurls and the left edge of the shield is the exception, not the rule for this strongly defined Classic Head half eagle. Luminous luster is most evident in the fields. Minimally marked with vibrant sun-gold color.
