Liberty Half Eagles
1847-D $5 AU53 PCGS. Variety 19-I. The 1847-D is regarded as one of the more obtainable D-mint fives and therefore one of the premier candidates for type purposes. An estimated 60-78 pieces are believed extant in AU condition. This is a bright yellow-gold example with significant accents of reddish patina surrounding the devices. A couple of cluster of tiny pinprick-sized marks are located adjacent to stars 3 and 4.
