1895-S $5 MS61 PCGS. The 1895 -S half eagle is unlikely to be located any finer than the MS61 level of preservation; PCGS and NGC report fewer than 25 submissions grading higher. The peach-gold surfaces displaying hints of green show considerable luster, and importantly are minimally marked for the designated grade. Moreover, the design features are sharply defined. These attributes combine to make for an attractive specimen that may well lay claims to a higher grade. Population: 10 in 61, 18 finer (6/17).
