Indian Half Eagles
1912-S $5 MS62 PCGS. The 1912-S Indian Head five is disproportionately scarce in Mint State compared to its mintage of 392,000 coins. Most Uncirculated examples are abraded and grade no better than MS62. This piece is upper-end for the grade with sharp design elements and bright yellow-gold luster. No individual abrasions are seen, although some faint hairlines can be viewed in the fields under magnification at certain angles. PCGS reports 38 numerically finer representatives (6/17).
