Liberty Eagles
1838 $10 -- Obverse Rim Filed, Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. As a low-mintage first-year type struck to the meager extent of 7,200 coins, it is little wonder the 1838 Liberty Head eagle is highly sought-after. The only issue is that there are probably fewer than 100 survivors known. Anything above XF condition is very rare indeed. This AU Details ten has had its rims filed along the right obverse border, and both sides show evidence of cleaning. Orange-gold surfaces display bold central detail on the curls, feathers, fletchings, and talons.
