Liberty Eagles
1895-O $10 MS63 PCGS. Variety 1. The New Orleans Mint produced gold coins intermittently throughout the last two decades of that facility's history. Eagles were coined in 10 of those 20 years, and half eagles in four different years. Those were the only two denominations struck in New Orleans from 1890 to 1909. All 14 issues had a combined total mintage of less than 900,000 coins. This Select Mint State example has a bold strike with only the first star indistinct. The surfaces are brilliant and lustrous. A lovely example and conditionally rare. Population: 25 in 63, 0 finer (6/17).
Ex: Houston Signature (Heritage, 12/2013), lot 3870.
