Liberty Double Eagles
1860-S $20 AU53 PCGS Secure. Ex: Collection Champagne Lanson. This lovely 1860-S double eagle was discovered as part of a nearly 500-coin hoard on the Lanson vineyard in Les Riceys, France in February 2012. The hoard is thought to have been hidden during World War II and left untouched for more than 75 years. Peripheral luster radiates from this green-gold double eagle, showing scattered abrasions and slight blending over the hair curls and wingtips.
