Liberty Double Eagles
1861 $20 MS62 PCGS. From a large mintage of nearly 3 million pieces, the 1861 Liberty double eagle is an available issue in circulated grades but, like most Type One twenties, it is very scarce above the MS62 level. This impressive MS62 specimen is sharply detailed throughout and the lustrous apricot-gold surfaces show the minimum number of minor contact marks for the grade. PCGS has graded 52 numerically finer examples (6/17).
