Liberty Double Eagles
1875-CC $20 AU58 PCGS. CAC. Variety 5-A. We know of at least 16 die pairs used to strike 111,151 double eagles at the Carson City Mint in 1875. Variety 5-A has the 1 away from the bust, the 7 directly over a dentil, and a die line above the E in AMERICA. Warm orange and green-gold color adorns this nearly Mint State double eagle, featuring lively luster and terrific aesthetic appeal in spite of high-point softness.
