Liberty Double Eagles
1906-D $20 MS64+ PCGS. This is the first, and one of only two Liberty Head double eagles from the Denver Mint, which opened in 1906. Examples are scarce but obtainable in MS64, while anything finer proves exceedingly rare. The motifs are fully brought-up on this orange and green-gold twenty. Shimmering luster draws the attention of the viewer. A graze on Liberty's chin serves as a pedigree marker, but few other mentionable distractions are noted. PCGS reports 13 higher grading events (6/17).
