KM-unlisted; Gomes-L131.09. The decree called for all foreign silver and copper coinage then circulating to be countermarked with crowned G.P. (Governo Portuguese). Countermark well struck with excellent definition of the details and lustrous. Overall light attractive grey tone which deepens in the peripheries. Both countermark and host coin NGC AU-55.
