FRANCE. Ecu d'Or, ND (1st Emission, 21 January 1423). 1st type. Charles VII (1422-61). NGC MS-63.
Fr-307; Dup-453; Ciani-615. Long "O" in Kings name. From the Joan of Arc period. The legitimacy of Charles VII's rule was based upon Joan's visions of the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine instructing her to support the then uncrowned king. Highly desirable for its historical links to this dramatic portion of French history. Sharply struck central devices with good definition of the fine details on a compact flan. Lustrous with lovely honey-gold tone which transitions to an attractive apricot in the reverse legends. NGC MS-63.

Estimate: $900.00- $1200.00
