FRANCE. 20 Franc Essai Struck in Copper-Nickel, 1939. PCGS SP-66 Secure Holder.
15.6 gms. KM-E72; cf.GEM-200.11. "ESSAI" on reverse, edge with 159 reeds. The weight would suggest that this was to be struck for GEM-200.13, but the presence of "ESSAI" on the reverse and the amount of edge reeds indicates GEM-200.11 which had an intended weight of 16 grams. Minor unobtrusive verdigris on reverse mentioned for accuracy. Sharply struck with beautiful iridescent tone. PCGS SP-66 Secure Holder.
