GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign of 20 Shillings, (1551-53). Tun Mint Mark. Edward VI (1547-53). NGC VF-35.
Fr-186; S-2450; North-1927. During Edwards relatively short reign he was governed by a Regency Council since taking the throne at the age of nine, he was never able to gain control. Social unrest and economic problems were real issues for him with an unsuccessful war with Scotland and the transformation of the Church into a recognized Protestant body. He fell terminally ill early in 1553 and died on 6 July the same year at the age of 15. Nice strike on a full round planchet with full legends on both sides. Attractive with lovely orange tone in the peripheries. NGC VF-35.

Estimate: $12000.00- $16000.00
