ITALY. 100 Lire, 1883-R. NGC MS-60.
Fr-18; KM-22; Mont-3; Gig-3. Mintage of only 4,219 pieces. Here is an example where the designated grade does not necessarily reflect the quality. Though the technical grade is accurate due to light cabinet friction and handling marks the eye appeal more than makes up for the grade deficiencies. Well struck as would be expected being a product from the Rome mint. Good luster with lovely apricot tone throughout which deepens around the devices. Clearly an example that sat for a prolonged period of time undisturbed and highly attractive as such. NGC MS-60.
