MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1733-MXMF. Philip V (1700-46). NGC VF-30.
KM-94; Gil-M-4-5b; cf.Yonaka-M4-33f; Cal-Type 178#1041; cf.Harris-133; cf.Palmer & Almanzar-204; cf.Grove-759. "I" of HISPAN over "S". EXTREMELY RARE variety of a very popular one-year type and missing from the Rudman collection. Interesting to note that during the extensive research conducted by Mr. Brad Yonaka he was unable to locate or confirm the existence of this variety. Though he was able to discern three different die pairs for this mintmark and assayers letter combination. Well struck with even moderate wear. Light attractive grey tone in the open fields which deepens towards the edges and devices with just a hint of russet and blue with underlying luster in the protected areas. While the reverse displays more of light golden tone throughout with hints of a blue sheen in the protected areas of the legend. Quite an attractive wholesome and problem free example sure to excite the specialist of Pillar coinage. NGC VF-30.

Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
