MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1741-MoMF. Philip V (1700-46). NGC AU-53.
KM-94; cf.Gil-M-4-13; cf.Yonaka-M4-41a; Cal-Type 179#1058; Harris-145; Palmer & Almanzar-219; Grove-778. EXTREMELY RARE variety missing neckmould atop right pillar. Neither Mr. Gilboy or Mr. Yonaka describe this variety for this date, but do note that this appears on earlier dates up to 1743 where the neckmould is missing from either one or both pillars. An interesting variety with a good strike and plenty of detail. Light attractive golden tone in the peripheries and amongst the devices and crescent of deep tone that has a blue sheen between eleven o'clock and one o'clock of the reverse. NGC AU-53.
