Gallienus AR Antoninianus. Rome, sole reign, circa AD 260-268. IMP GALLIENVS AVG, radiate and draped bust left, holding spear pointed forward, and shield / VIC GALL AVG III, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm branch. Very Fine. Area of flatness to rev. Light tone over lustrous metal with iridescent deep red highlights. Unpublished and possibly unique.
The reverse legend of this possibly unique antoninianus, when expanded to its full length of "Victoria Galliarum Augusti tertium", proudly proclaims 'the Gallic Victory of the Augustus for the third time'.
