CHINA. Hunan. 3.6 Candareems (5 Cents), 1902. Wuchang Mint. NGC AU-55.
L&M-383; Y-114; Kann-164(1902); Chang Foundation-74; Wenchao-792 (Five Stars). RARE and the first example of this issue that we have handled. Missing from both the Wa She Wong and Norman Jacobs collections. Single finest graded at NGC, none graded at PCGS. Since Hunan did not have a mint of its own during this time period, all of the subsidiary silver coins were actually minted in Hupeh. Sharply struck with dark attractive tone showing hues of iridescence. An opportunity that may not repeat itself for many years to come. NGC AU-55.
Estimate: $5000.00- $7000.00
