37.1 mm; 25.4 gms. Dupriez-1676. VERY RARE. Struck to commemorate the visit of his excellence Tong-Shao-Yi, correspondent of the Emperor of China upon his visit to the Brussels Mint in Belgium. Tong-Shao-Yi was a Chinese Diplomat and Politician. He studied at Queen's College in Hong Kong and Columbia University of New York. He was the first president of Shandong University, one of China's oldest and most prestigious universities. He was appointed Prime Minister in 1912 under Yuan Shih-kai along with many other undertakings. On September 30th, 1938 he was assassinated at his home in Shanghai for suspected collaboration with the Japanese. Sharply struck, lightly toned, brilliant and conservatively graded. NGC MS-62.
