ALMORAVID: Tashufin b. 'Ali, 1142-1145, AV dinar (4.16g), Madinat Fas (Fès), AH539, A-471.2, H-425, citing the heir Ibrahim, superb bold strike, finest calligraphic style, choice EF, RRR. Lovely example of the extremely rare series of dinars citing Ibrahim as heir. Only one example is cited on CoinArchives, but of Marrakesh 539 (Stephen Album Auction 19, Lot 424, sold for $3200). This piece retains the exquisite calligraphic style unique to the mint of Fès during Almoravid rule, first instroduced in AH535.
