French Colony silvered-bronze Specimen Uniface Pattern Piastre (1930)-A SP63 PCGS, Paris mint, Lec-306. Only the reverse design was struck for this uniface trial and the surfaces have since acquired an interesting tone, with the face being deep olive-golden colored, while customary silvery color exists on the blank portion. Extremely rare, this piece was created in 1930 employing the old piastre design which would never again be used on circulation coinage (the piastre would be redesigned the following year and reintroduced into circulation). Very desirable as such, and certain to spark interest with the collector of Vietnam that is interested in the country's numismatic history.
