Cromwell Crown 1658/7 AU Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Royal mint, S-3226, ESC-10. Dies by Thomas Simon. Showing the diagnostic die-crack across Cromwell's bust, with light wear that evenly levels the higher points and a reverse planchet flaw to the right of the crowned shield. Pleasingly toned with moments of luster still residing in the legends, and, even at the details level, a sought-after issue that should not be overlooked. Sold with the Superior Stamp & Coin Co. envelope pedigreed to the Walter Lee Crouch Collection sale in 1977.
